Villages and Towns - South Africa

We travelled by overlander truck 5000 kms from Johannesberg to Cape Town passing several small peaceful villages and rural communities everyday however only one or two towns a day, often hundreds of kms apart.

Local people live in very basic mud or concrete block huts with thatched or corrugated metal roofs often growing crops or tending to a few animals. Rarely a vehicle was seen on these properties. People take mini van buses once a month into towns that are too far apart and too small to support the populations.
