Patagonia - Argentina

We flew 2700 kms south from Buenos Aires to El Calafate, then travelled 80 kms through the Patagonian steppe to Glacier Perito Moreno in Parque Nacional Los Glaciares - Patagonia, Argentina.

This most famous glacier in Argentina has been in a state of stability neither growing nor receding in size. However it moves down the mountain at a rate of 2 meters per day and we were fortunate to witness large slabs of ice calving off it's 60 metre high front face forming icebergs in Lagos Argentino. The stunning turquoise lake itself is over 100 kms long.
