Changdeokgung Palace - Seoul, Korea

Changdeokgung Palace 'The Palace of Illustrious Virtue' originally constructed in 1405 during the Joseon Dynasty, was rebuilt in 1610 and served as the main palace for 270 years. The roof construction includes intricately painted rafters and struts throughout.

The less ornate living quarters had paper covered walls and windows, poems written on the columns and stone floors heated by fires built beneath them. The palace grounds include a Secret Garden consisting of a series of lotus ponds and small pavilions.

School children were also visiting the palace.
